Hellor of Mellon Institute to preside at a meeting of representatives of trade organizations at which a program on the subject of silicosis will ba presented by a variety of authorities. The speakers will include Philip Drinker, Dr. Sayers, Dr. Lanza, Dr. Pendergrass of the University of Pennsylvania, and one or two others whom I do not recall. The meeting is to be an all-day session at the University Club, Pittsburgh, on January 15. On Sunday and Monday, January 13 and 14, preceding the meeting in Pittsburgh there is to be a meeting on the same subject and by practically the same speakers at Washing ton. This will be a rather informal meeting held at the U. S. Public Health Service and in a large measure could be consid ered as a rehearsal of the discussions for the Pittsburgh meet ing. If travel funds are available, I should like very much to attend the Washington meeting because it will put me in a better position to successfully preside at the meeting in Pitts burgh. . Permission for presiding at the Pittsburgh meeting and for making the trip to Washington la desired. Please let me know at your earliest convenience so that I may make the necessary arrangements.
