Suggestion Systems
Reviewed the method used by each company relative to - who aay participate, who accepts or rejects, who accesses the value and what is the reward for accepted suggestions.
Pollowing are general procedures:
1. Hourly employees participate. 2. Separate participation for salaried employees. 3. Management committee or Management and &ployee
SDanittee accept or reject suggestion. A. The value is accessed through complete investi
gation of ths suggestion. 5. The reward is either a fixed amount or a percent
of the first year's savings.
Moat companies encourage suggestions as they are a very isportant part of the never ending search for operational iafrovements.
Variances - Production Control
Caapard.es have different means of finding where their costs of manufacturing is off stsndard. Variance and Production Control systems jnsnsdiataly point out reduced or increased aeaufaeturlng cost to ths Manager. When a change from standard is noted it is investigated and the causa noted. By this method a mart accurate control can be placed on costa cr corrections mads when necessary and tha reason noted.
With todays eost of operation, a system such as this is a moat valuable asset to Muugsmshb.
