This figure in some plants, can be reduced to ten years because rsaords art available for the past flftaen yeara. Review and discussion of these articles keeps meabers of the eoondttees up to date on the publicity Asbestos is receiving relative td'Publie Health. There have been some custooer inquiries about dust control. Each member company has the pamphlet "Method for Detsralnlag Asbestos Dust Concentration11, which they can forward to help educate their customers on testing dust concentra tion and also recommending control where necessary. J. 07t42 Suggestion Systems Reviewed the method used by each company relative to - who aay participate, who accepts or rejects, who accesses the value and what is the reward for accepted suggestions. Pollowing are general procedures: 1. Hourly employees participate. 2. Separate participation for salaried employees. 3. Management committee or Management and &ployee SDanittee accept or reject suggestion. A. The value is accessed through complete investi gation of ths suggestion. 5. The reward is either a fixed amount or a percent of the first year's savings. Moat companies encourage suggestions as they are a very isportant part of the never ending search for operational iafrovements. However, there is strong feeling aoong the moaittee that in the future the loss of hearing will be compensable. Each of us should be working to reduce noise to a safe level.
