Benzaldehyde (ED)
Benzaldehyde has slight acute oral toxicity with an LD5Q in rats of 1300 mg/kg. Benzaldehyde was not a skin irritant or sensitizer when tested on the skin of guinea pigs. No deaths occurred in a group of six rats exposed to 1525 ppm of a benzaldehyde:Zany1 A {20;1) mixture. No adverse effects were observed in rats fed 10QQ or 10,000 ppm of benzaldehyde in their diet for up to 28 weeks. In a two-week inhalation study, no adverse effects were observed in rats exposed to 185 ppm of the benzaldehyde-Zonyl A mixture mentioned above, Benzaldehyde has 2 ppm [8-hour TWA) and 4 ppm (15-minute TWA) WEELs that were established in 1985,
