ENVIRONMENTAL MEASUREMENTS CORPORATION Denham Springs, Louisiana
February 22, 1988
Six (6) filter cassette samples were received on February 18,
1988, from Environmental Measurements Corporation, for asbestos
fiber count. Fibers larger than 5 microns in length were counted
by means of phase-contrast microscopy at a magnification of
400X.
The procedure recommended by NIOSH Method 7400A was
followed.
Pertinent information regarding.fiber counts is as follows: Field Area: 0.00785 mm` (Walton Beckett Graticule) Effective Collecting Area: 385 mm^ (25mm Cassette)
855 mm` (37mm Cassette) Limit of Quantitation: 10 fibers/100 fields Limit of Detection: > Average Blank Count @ Detection limits are based upon a minimal count of fibers/100 fields.
