"KFFLkIR" - NEWPORT XOA-6 - CLOSING REPORT
Title: Hydrolysis of NF-128-D
Purpose: This batch of improved gold is being prepared for initial sales evaluation of the NF-128-D grade.
Results:
The hydrolysis was carried out according to the conditions prescribed on the batch card. Three variations in the original instructions were made under the direction of E. F. Klenke:
a) The hydro was heated to boil in less than 2 hour's .
b) Water was not added to maintain level during boil.
c) No Sb2C>3 was added.
End-pointing of the hydrolysis was done by the color of the coated mica, a medium reddish tint constituting
the end point. Laboratory calcination of a sample of the batch yielded a satisfactory product.
Specification of the TiOa:miea ratio and the corresponding boil time should permit routine plant operation.
The time temperature record for the hydrolysis is attached.
