In this test magnesium and/or iron from the asbestos is released and reacted with color forming reagents to indicate possible presence of asbestos. This test can screen samples of bulk material quickly and simply. A positive result is presumptive and requires further laboratory tests to confirm. A negative result indicates a definite absence of asbestos. The results from your samples were negative. Based on these results, the insulation material does not contain asbestos and would not be expected to produce an asbestos health hazard.
