Mittnaeht Ethyl Gasoline Corporation Chrysler Building New York City New York Dear Mr* Mittnaehts Thanks for your long letter of September 27th and Its enclosures which I have gone over very carefully, I have come to the conclusion that it is wise and necessary that I come along to New York as soon as possible and discuss matters with Dr, Denno and Mr, Bonsib, There are some things in the instructions to tank wagon drivers and other persons engaged in the handling tf lead in motor fuels which I do not feel that we can safely let pass. Certain statements are made in them which are directly opposed to our experience and our experimental results, and If they were allowed to go as they are, it might bring about not only undue anxiety on the part of workmen but it seems to me that it might also involve us in legal complications which we can not afford to risk. It is highly important, therefore, in my opinion, that these regulations should not he issued in their present form and that they he held up pending a full discussion of their sig nificano, . Accordingly I am planning to come to New York on Thursday morning directly from Chicago where I must be Wednesday, I consider the matter important enough that I should have come on at once except for the fact that in the absence of my associates, I am compelled to be here for certain engagements which I have made for Monday and Tuesday, On receipt of my letter, I would appreciate it if jon would get in touch with Dr* Denno and acquaint him with my plans. The only hitch which seems possible to me is that Mr. Bonsib will probably be in Chicago at the meeting of the American Safety Congress, and that he will not find it possible to be in New York on Thursday and Friday, It may also be possible that Dr, Denno will feel that Mr. Bonsib and I could iron out the whole problem by getting together in Chicago, I do not urge the latter for I think it desirable to discuss this as medical men with Mr, Bonsib sitting in on the conference.
