Occupational Health Policy Committee Mission Statement: The Occupational Health Policy Committee (OHPC) consists of physicians, personnel and industrial relations managers, legal consultants and chaired by the Medical Director and Director of Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Product Reliability. This committee is responsible for development of policy for administrative and personnel issues as it pertains to the Medical Program. The major objectives of this committee are: o Implement New Medical Program Awareness 1. Review new programs for: A. Administrative guidance for implementation of programs. B. Development time table for implementation of programs. o Develop Referral Payment Policy 1. Determine policy for referral, therapy, and prostheses payment for job-related illnesses. o Develop Job Placement Policy 1. Policy on job reassignment for employees demonstrating effects of occupational exposure(s). 2. Policy on job reassignment for employees with existing health problems that limit their ability to do the job. o Develop Smoking Policy 1. Prohibiting smoking in areas where environmental exposures are more disease producing in the presence of smoking. V o Develop General Medical Program Policies 1. Review current general Medical Policies and determine inadequacies. Areas that should be addressed include: A. Occupational Medical Programs B. New Medical Programs C.
