Please refer to your 3/4/74 letter on the above subject Re-
garding the 17.1 average asbestos fiber level on block briquette
press 15-7 it is important to note that the tests producing this
result were made immediately upon completioonf the installation of
the exhaust ventilation system on this press As you know this is
the press upon which we delayed installation of the exhaust ventilation
system for business reasons Thus we believe the high fiber level
resulted more from the need to make the usual adjustments to a new
installation than from the actual capability of the system In support
of this belief this press now has a 5.7 average asbestos fiber level
based on tests made on 2/28/74 - a month after the installation of
the exhaust ventilation system feed system further reduce
the current 5.0 specification
