PROCEDURE FOR DUMPING LINING DUST FROM PANGBQRN DUST COLLECTOR
1.' Protective paper coveralls, hood and respirator must be put on prior to start of dumping operation. Coveralls and hoods are available from Crib, respirator from Dispensary. These items are not to be removed until the entire procedure is completed. Do not remove respirator until coveralls and hood have been discarded into dust cart.
2. Chain off aisle. There is to be no unprotected truck or pedestrian traffic while dumping procedure is in process.
3. Check to be sure plastic bag is securely tied to hopper. Open hopper gate and attach air line to vibrator if so equipped. Start shaker, shake for 5 minutes then turn off.
4. When hopper is empty, check to see if plastic bags are full. If not, leave in position, close hopper gate, and close doors of cart area.
5. If any dust has spilled, pick up immediately with dust collector suction hose.
6. If bag is full, tie off before removing cart. Remove cart to back yard inmediately. Do not leave for later removal. Close doors of cart area whenever you leave the area.
7. If full cart is removed, replace with empty cart and tie new bags on to hopper, close hopper gate, and close door on cart area.
8. Remove aisle chains. 9. Discard protective clothing and remove respirator as per instructions
item #1. 10. If you have any questions regarding dumping procedure, ask before you act.

SuDiect . Review- Asbestos Handling; Procedure Work area around lining grinding and riveting operations must be
vacuumed clean by the'operator at the end of each shift. The work area must not be blown clean using compressed air or brooms. Operators must vacuum empty lining boxes before the boxes are thrown into the yellow dumpsters.
Each layer of lining coming from vendors must be checked for excess dust. Again, small amounts of dust must be vacuumed from the boxes. Large concentrations of dust in the boxes is cause for return to the vendor with follow-up through purchasing. We must w o r k to contain any asbestos dust as best we can in order to remainunder the maximum Federal requirement of 2 fibers per cubic centimeter.
