A special Plant Management Committee and Plant Union Committee meeting was held on September 6, 1968. The meeting was called to order by R. V. Butz. Present were:

Guests were: S. E. Hebert, A. D. Moeller, A. G. Goodaon, and W. R. Walker.
NEW BUSINESS
VCM SHUTDOWN
COMPANY
announced plans to shut down the VCM unit by the end of 1968.
Further stated that due to a drop in total employment over the last year, and
because of the openings produced by this attrition, there will be no layoffs as
a result of this shutdown.

said these problems had not been completely worked out, but
they would make every effort to keep the employees informed as plans
developed.
UNION
asked if any of the employees affected by this shutdown would
be assigned to the crafts.
COMPANY
said there were no plans to do so at this time, but individual
requests would be considered.
