R, Hanlon FL: MSDS--'4G Concentrate Because we had heard that National Gypsum's research department had. alerted their president that the 4G Concentrate we sell them contained asbestos, it seemed appropriate that we should call their technical people and bring them up-to-date. 1 called my Research contact, Mr. Dave Bieri, Director of Tech nical Service, and quickly discovered that he was the person responsible for this matter at National.Gtcsua. I first made my apologies for delaying so long , furnishing i^iormatioiT on the basis that it had taken us a lot _ of time and effort to establish a valid scientific picture of the contaminant in Vermiculite Concentrate. I went on to review the Material Safety Data Sheets on both Libby and Kearney ft4 G. Dave also asked me to talk the mat ter over with Joseph volk, who works for Dave and heads up their environ mental section. I went over the same ground with him- At several points, he wanted to get into the subject of electron microscopy and I suggested that he should contact Dr. Duecker and gave him his phone number. X also suggested that he was knowledgeable about contaminants in. South African vermiculite. It is obvious to me that our release of this information is timely.
