' Area Subjecc Asbestos Labeling Attached is my proposed label for packages of "Calidria** Asbestos. I have combined your ideas with Hilton's and added a few points of my own. 1. I think this is a good time to initiate use of the international "a" logo on all bags. Canadian companies have used it for sev eral years, and we use it on our Sylodez products which go to Europe. The EEC has not adopted the **a" symbol officially, but it is generally accepted. 2. I agree with Hilton that we should include the word "chrysotile** in a prominent manner. -------- 3. I firmly believe that the first line item is true for short fiber chrysotile--others may not. 4. We should not say "wear respirator1* without saying when. Use of respirators should be encouraged, but they are not required unless TLV's are exceeded. 5. We should stress the use of Nwork practices** as a better means of reducing health risks than "regulations**. We should use the new label on all bags except those used for Sylodex. The Japanese label is their own wording, not a straight translation of the OSHA label. We should discuss our proposed label with Tomoe and Grace--maybe Byrne and Dickson could do this in March.
