It solves the problem that was initially raised in a ver^ satisfactory arrangement. I was informed incorrectly, it seems that the stoves in use at this camp were not equipped to handle leaded gasoline and that all matter of difficulties, and perhaps dangers as well, were being created for this reason. The original design of the Army stove was not wholly satisfactory, but I think it was not dangerous. Steps are being taken, and in fact have been very nearly completed for making the necessary changes in design. When this has all been accomplished, there will bo very little further trouble, I think. Meanwhile, I think there is very little that can be done. Again my thanks to you for your information has straightened out a matter in which we could have gotten ourselves into a rather embarrassing position. If any further information con cerning the difficulties with the stoves should come to your attention, please pass it along to me. I might as well let you know now that I shall probably be in Los Angeles for two or three day3 at the end of this month and the first of next, at a meeting of industrial physicians and hygienists. I shall probably fly out and back and will have very little time to stay. However, I would like to see you, and if anything comes up that you or your people wish to see me about, please let me know.
