C. UNITED STATES GYPSUM COMPANY PRODUCTS AND SERVICES For thirty-eight years the United States Gypsum Company has manufactured high grade building materials. Progress in expanding the Company's facilities for speedy, economical distribution has kept pace with development of better products, until now there are 47 USG mills--at least one is close to you--for rapid delivery of a wide line of USG products. Also, 28 USG sales offices are active throughout the nation to give you in formation and service on building problems. During these thirty-eight years product after product has been developed, brought to per fection, and introduced to meet a specific build ing need. We started as a maker of plaster. Parallel with the constant improvements which we have built into Red Top Plasters have come many other products--those used in building, and those "non-building" products like insu lation board for refrigerator motor compart ments, hardboard for game boards, expanded metal for machinery guards, special plasters for intricate patterns and models, and many other products for countless uses. Here is a quick glance at what we make: WHEN YOU BUILD A FACTORY ROOF CONSTRUCTIONS.. Gypsum is an ideal roof deck material because it is fireproof, light, strong, andeconomical. USG Gypsum RoofTile are available in a num ber of types and thick nesses. Where a mono lithic gypsum roof is re 2'/,``T a G Root Tiio quired, the SheetrockPyrofill or the Weather- wood-Pyrofill roof constructions are available. Often a non combustible yet lower cost roof is required. For this need, the USG Steel Roof Deck is made. ROOF INSULATIONS . . Weatherwood Roof In sulation is a wood fiber product, made in square edge and offset form, homogeneous or lami nated, in thickness Vz", 1", 1V2" and 2". ROOF COVERINGS . . Weatherwood Roof Insulation The USG line of "Fortified" roof coverings is complete, in cluding mineral and smooth surfaced roll roofings, asphalt strip and individual shingles, asbestos-cement roofing and siding shingles, saturated felts, base and cap sheets, roofing asphalt, coatings and cements. GYPSUM FIREPROOFING . . For adequate protection of structural steel, the fire resistive qualities of gypsum make it outstanding. Gypsum will not pass heat higher than 212F until it is entirely calcined. Pyrobar Gypsum Beam and Girder Fireproofing is the name under which this type of fire protection is manufactured. INTERIOR PAINT . . Texolite Paste Paint is made in ten pastel shades and white, plus ten deep brilliant colors and black, to provide unlimited range of tints, shades, or blends. K-Cemo Primer is a "lime locking" primer, useful in neutralizing lime in plaster surfaces, equaliz ing suction, and in pro viding "tooth" for any finish paint over any sur face. Cementico is a high tfnliSi hi r-su- ! quality finish coating for all porous masonry sur faces. It is available in a variety of colors. WINDOW AND SKYLIGHT GUARDS.. Econo Mesh (expanded metal) is used from which to fabricate strong, non-raveling protection guards of all kinds. Regardless of the type of partition--temporary or permanent-- USG products are available to make it more fireproof and more economical. Pyrobar Gypsum Partition Tile are standard for many fireproof curtain walls. When plastered both sides with 'A' of gypsum plaster, such as Red Top, the 3-inch hollow construction has a fire rating of 2-hours. The USG 2" Solid Plaster Partition System gives the fire protection of metal lath Acoustone Sound*Absorbing Tile and gypsum plaster, at the same time occupying a minimum of space. Recessed Edge Sheetrock and Perfatape make ideal office partitions for permanent and temporary use. PROCESS MATERIALS The USG products used in processing industries are con stantly increasing in number and quantity. Industries of all kinds find that raw and semi-fabricated USG materials aid them in producing satisfactory products at low cost. Weatherwood Hardboard Products, for example, are known for consistency of color and thickness. Especially interesting is the fact that they are smooth on both sides. Both sides can be finished if necessary. Econo Mesh (expanded metal) and Shelf-X (flattened ex panded metal) are in regular use in making machine guards, baskets, shelving, grilles, reinforcing iron castings and the like.
