I have little insight into the timeline or prospects of a permanent position for you at DOI, but in the interim would you be open to an unpaid internship this summer, potentially with me in PMB? It might at least get your foot in the door. Let me know what you think. I admire your initiative and want to be helpful. Thanks, Scott Scott J. Hope you are doing well. I have had several good developments on the job hunt but nothing substantial to report. Most of my time has been spent researching, watching hearings, and meeting for coffee with staff members in the House and Senate. I have found this all to be time well spent in preparation for future employment. On May 18, I attended the confirmation hearing for Deputy Secretary Bernhardt and introduced myself to Doug Domenech afterwards. We spoke for a couple minutes and he gave me contact information for Lori Mashburn with instructions on how to reach out to her. I have attached to this email my correspondence to her from May 19th. Last Wednesday, I had a meeting with Senator Inhofe's Chief of Staff Luke Holland set up by Senator Isakson's office. We spoke for about thirty minutes regarding my background as well as EPW and EPA. He suggested that he would put me in touch with Susan Parker Bodine, former Chief Counsel for EPW now head of OECA for EPA. I have not yet been in touch with her and do not know if setting up this meeting is the course of action he has ultimately decided to take. My interest remains strong in working for you at Interior in support of your role as acting Assistant Secretary for Water and Science and your role as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy, Management, and Budget. I would very much welcome the opportunity to discuss this with you further.
