Yeagley (2) General Office St. Louis SUB: AROCLOR - PYRANOL - INERTEEN SPECIFICATIONS In the reference memo you state that, "There seems to be some question whether the plants, the Purchasing Department and the Sales Department are in agreement on the latest specifications as approved by G. E." In order to help clarify this situation, attached are copies of G. E. specifications currently being used by the W. G. K. Plant. Except when specified otherwise, the attached G. S. Specifications were copied from G. E. Data Folder No. 65206. dated 9-29-47. In these specifications, G, E. lists limits on several properties of which they do not require an analysis. These properties are desig nated by an asterisk on the attached copies as: Not determined un less by special request. You will notice that G. E, lists all acidity specifications as, less than 0.01 mg. NaOH/gm. sample. In September 1950, they started re porting this acidity as mg. KCH/gra sample. This specification was changed to read less than 0.014 mg. KOH/grn sample. Refer to Wheelock's memo to Tittle, 11-21-50. Other comments are offered for information purposes. PYRANOL 1457 No formal Monsanto Specification. We use G. E. Specification H-9222509, dated 12-2-44. PYRANOL 1433 Notnormally produced at W. G. K. Plant as a finished material. When needed, we use G. E. Specification H-5228224, dated 11-20-44. (The Monsanto Specification Is Sales Code 1040-360-75-03 dated 8-27-51.) PYRANOL 1431 No formal Mons^hto or G. E. Specification. We use G. E. Specification H-9508964 dated 3-24-48 given In Wheelock's memo to Tompkins, 9-4-48. W. G. K. proposed a specification for this product on 10-12-48, 2 DSW 550766 I -1 STLCOPCB4089183 (Kulifay / Hehner to Smythe) Sales Code No. 1040-367-75-03 which is Identical to G. E. Specification. This apparently was never adopted. PYRANOL 1473 (TC3) We use G. E. Specification H-5228222, dated 8-31-33. (The Monsanto specification is Sales Code 8510-100-05-03 dated 8-27-41.) Specification H-3955346, dated 1-21-48, except that we ship material which passes Monsanto specification. Sales Code 1040-280-75-03, dated 8-27-41, on distillation range and viscosity. W. G. Specification H-397091, dated 1-21-48, except that material is shipped if it passes Monsanto Specification, Sales Code 1040-290-75-03, dated 8-27-41, on viscosity and distillation range.
