Assistant to the General Manager of the Reaction Motors Division of Thiokol Chemical Corporation in Denville, New Jersey, has been elected to the Industrial Hygiene Foundation Board of Trustees. Mr. Bowman's activity and participation in the Industrial Hygiene Foundation dates back only nine years but has ranged from a speaker at the 1960 Annual Meeting, to membership on the Chemical-Toxicological Committee, to Chairman of the Policy and Planning Committee, to mem bership on the Board of Trustees. Mr, Bowman was with Bake life Company from 1939 to 1954 before he joined Reaction Moto as Research Spectroscoplst. In 1956 he became Supervisor of the Chemistry Administration Sec tion where industrial safety and hygiene became one of his major concerns; in 1957 he was named Manager of the Research Operation and Plans Department where the industrial safety and hygiene responsibility expanded to the totality of the Research complex; in 1961 he was appointed Director of the Nuclear Technology Department; and in 1962 he assumed his present position as Assistant tc the General Manager. Mr. Bowman is author of a number of published articles and is past Vice President of the Society for Applied Spectroscopy; pa.st President of the Association for R It D Administration; Chairman of the Speakers Bureau olf the Coblentz Society; past Assistant Chairman and current Director of the New Jersey Section of the American Astronautieal Society; State Chairman of the New Jersey Council for Research an.d Development;, and member of the Air Force Association, American Ordnance Association, American Association for the Advancement of Science and Semini Leader for the American Management Association. He was awarded his B.S. in Physics from New York University and has done graduate work at the New York University, Stanford University Graduate School of Business and Fairlelgh Dlckim University. 031220S7 lii
