There is definitely no rush on this, other than the fact that my meeting schedule is insane so I have to start planning early. Have a super vacation and when you are ready to start working again, lets try to put something on the calendar. Regards, Nancy Nancy B. However, I am leaving on vacation Sunday and won't return until Sept 8th. Just FYI - 1recently led a workshop in Taiwan thru a USDA TASC grant. Reps from the pesticide industry and commodity groups attended. We have a report on the workshop. I believe why the growers are saying that pesticide use is driven by Taiwan is because Taiwan has to have MRLs in place for a given pesticide/commodity and they have far fewer than the US. Many factors at play. Perhaps a face to face when I get back would be best to explain it all. Best, Lois Sent from my iPhone Sierra Club v. On the recent CA specialty crop tour, there were multiple referrals to how the MRLs from Taiwan appear to be driving pesticide use in California. In trying to understand why this is happening, Rick suggested I reach out to you. Nothing is urgent but if you have some time, I would appreciate hearing about how we've ended up in this position. Additionally, I will likely be going to Taiwan in November to talk about TSCA/chemical regulation and I'm wondering if it would be worthwhile to add on some pesticide meetings.
