Dear Vic: As you know i shall be unable to attend the forthcoming Gypsum Association Board of Directors Meeting. There is one subject on which I would like you to know our position, and this is in respect to labeling products containing asbestos. Our position is that we should label joint compound containing asbestos in strict accordance with OSHA regulations and are doing so on our products. The attached letter by our John Sheahan to Mr. Volk of National Gypsum, whom I understand is a member of the Safety Committee of the Association, provides details supporting the need for this position.
