We suspect that our 1ove for the river will be di mi ni shed by new bui1di ng developments around surroundi ng areas that connect to the river basin north and s o uth. These natural events in the past and currently are uncontrol 1able -- the water comes faster and stays 1o n g e r . I t 's a f a c t . Can we work together to pi an big developments to be modeled by mi 1es of potenti al water s h e d , h y d r o l o g y , clean w a t e r , consumpti on -- instead of acres for future development? The ri ver is 1oosi ng its pri sti ne value by the mi n u t e . We d o n 't see many birds a n y m o r e , 100 year old trees are rotti n g ,non native fish floati ng by the mi 11io n s , unwanted alii gators by front and back doors of h o m e s , sewer systems are under w a t e r , elderly stranded by sand b a g s , fi 1th across every yard si nee Sept 11, 2017. The storm of Tropi cal Storm Fay was close to the same ci rcumstances wi th higher flood w a t e r s . Thi s a l 1 becomes a definite Health and Safety issue across the board. We believe the St Johns needs immediate re l i e f . S o , we the communi ties are formi ng a group for thi s relief e f f o r t . Somethi ng needs to be d o n e .
