In pressure-piping systems arc described in this specification.

MATERIAL

This packing shall consist of asbestos fiber, styrene-butadino
copolymer binder, and compounding Ingredients combined and processed
to give an acceptable product conforming to this specification.
3.0 REQUIREMENTS
3.1 This material shall be suitable for use with steam, gases,
mild acids, petroleum oils and alkalies. It should withstand .temperatures to 750F and have a minimum temperature x pressure
factor of 250,000.

3.2 ` Underwriters* Laboratory approval is required for this packing. This company must be immediately notified of any material changes that would negate this approval.
3.3 Tlta material shall have an anticipated shelf life of 5 years.
4.0 PROPERTIES
4.1 This packing shall have a minimum tensile strength of 2000 pst vfhen tested perpendicular to the grain. The test shall be made according to ASTM F39-59 procedures. f *
4.2 A compressibility of 7-17% with a minimum recovery of 40% is Required when tested at 5000 psi according to ASTM F36-66
--procedures.
5.0 DIMENSIONAL TOLERANCES The thickness of the sheets shall be within the following tolerances:
Thickness 1/64" through 1/32" 1/16" through 3/32"
