Dear D r . Koerber s
I am sending you herewith the r e s u l t ^ o ^ o u r analyses on the
blood samples of your patient
Unfortunately
these results do not permit us t o m a K ^ a n y v e r y satisfactory
interpretation. The lead concentration in the blood is
definitely above normal limits, but it is in that middle gx*ound
which makes it rather uncertain. In view of the history that
you have given me, I would be disposed to believe that this man
has been continuing a mild and not very significant exposure to
lead compounds. H o w e v e r , I would be much safer in making this
interpretation If I had adequate results on urinary samples.
As I pointed out elsewhere, the range of values obtained on
blood Is rather narrow, whereas that on the urine is much
wider and permits a much more precise Interpretation to be
made. I would consider it advisable to obtain additional...
samples on this man, both as a check on the possibility that
the samples just analysed may have been slightly contaminated
in the process of collection, and also as a means of giving an
Interpretation of the course of a somewhat unusual and perhaps
controversial case.
For our own convenience In not carrying accounts, I am sending you herewith a bill to cover the cost of the analytical work.
Cordially yours,
FAK ef Enc.
