The m a rria g e was i n 1943, te r m in a te d b y d iv o r c e in 1945, Both th e d iv o rce and th e m arriage took p la c e in B aton Rouge, L o u isian a. W itness obtained th e d iv o rce and she has a copy o f th e f i n a l d ivorce a c tio n . There were no c h ild re n of t h i s m a rria g e .
D ecedent had a p rev io u s m arriage to a D orothea C arr, T his was in B aton Rouge and was te rm in a te d i n d iv o rc e in 1946. There w ere c h i l d re n o f t h i s m a rria g e , th e y o u n g e st p r e s e n t l y b e in g 23 y e a r s o f ag e .
W itness was th e only person dependent upon d e c e d e n t's e a rn in g s a t th e tim e o f h is d e a th . W itness sa id t h a t on many o cca sio n s she heard h e r husband say th a t he th o u g h t th e work caused th e s h o rtn e s s o f b re a th .
He had co u g h in g s p e l l s from b u rn in g and c u t t i n g .
