Please accept my thanks for your letter of October ij.th with its information about the case of French vs. Olds Motor Works. In the matter of information on sulphur dioxide and trioxide, I am sending you herewith a copy of our article which appeared In the Journal of Industrial Hygiene. She article of Dr. McCord to which you apparently referred, is a gnerai discussion of the toxicity of materials used as refrigerants. It contains no mention of any original observations and refers to the monograph of Henderson and Haggart on Noxious Gases as the source of informa tion as to the toxicity of sulphur dioxide* know Dr. McCord and I am quite certain that he has not Investigated the subject of sulphur dioxide exposure. As to further literature on the subject, I think that the best description of Industrial experience with sulphur dioxide will he found in the hook of Dr. Alice Hamilton entitled "Industrial Poisons in the United Si:atesw . Very little recent work has been done on the subject, and her discussion gives a very good summary, I believe, of the available clinical information. ... I do not have any reprints of Dr. McCorda article to which I referred above.
