APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes of the September 19, 1967 Safety Committee meeting were approved as read by the secretary. The secretary read the committee correspondence regarding the formation of a production personnel advisory group within the Cfcrpsum Association, and requested that each member review areas where this group could be of assistance to the Safety Committee in the implementation and direction of the various subject matters presently on the Safety Committee Agenda. The chairman requested that the committee members be prepared to formulate a recommendation for the need of such an advisory group at the close of the two-day meeting. 2. "CERTIFICATE OF MERIT" AWARD Following a thorough review of the last three editions of the Safety Bulletin, the committee selected two articles by ballot. The article "Pine Tree Safety" by Edwin H. Kittner, Georgia-Pacific Corporation, Cfcrpsum Division, Blue Rapids Plant (February, 1966) and the article "Inspire, Instruct, Demand!" ty Kenneth F. Bento, employ ment supervisor. United States Gypsum Company, Stony Foint Plant (February, 1968) were selected to receive the Qypsum Association "Certificate of Merit" Award. Mr. Kittner and Mr. Bento will receive a Certificate and inscribed ashtray for their contribution to safety. docket. The committee directed that this item be carried on the HDEP. EX.
