RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL
Growing Alaska Through Responsible Resource Development
August 16, 2017
The Honorable Scott Pruitt, Administrator U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Office of the Administrator: Mail Code 1101A 1200 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. Washington, DC 20460
Dear Administrator Pruitt:
The Resource Development Council for Alaska, Inc. (RDC) would like to extend a formal invitation for you to be a keynote speaker at our 38th Annual Alaska Resources Conference in Anchorage on November 15-16, 2017.
Typically, the first day of the conference has a focus on the oil and gas industry in Alaska, and the second day focuses on mining, tourism, forestry and the fishing industry, as well as presentations from Alaska's native corporations. We invite you to speak at lunch on November 15th, but the 16th is also available should that date work better for your schedule.
The Alaska Resources Conference is the largest resource industry event held in Alaska. The two-day conference will see an expected 1,000 attendees, including decision makers across all resource industries and economic sectors, as well as Alaska Native corporation executives, federal, state, and local government officials, and elected representatives.
Additional details, and presentations from previous conference speakers can be found online at http://www.akrdc.org/conference.
RDC and its membership, representing tens of thousands of working Alaskans, strongly agrees with you that with proper implementation of pro -environment and pro-economy policies, the United States can both protect the environment and realize strong economic growth without sacrificing one ideal over the other.
Founded in 1975, RDC is comprised of individuals and companies from Alaska's oil and gas, mining, timber, tourism, and fisheries industries, as well as Alaska Native corporations, local communities, organized labor, and industry support firms. RDC's purpose is to link these diverse interests together to encourage a strong, diversified private sector in Alaska and expand the state's economic base through the responsible development of our natural resources.
Your consideration of this request at the earliest convenience is greatly appreciated. Our objective is to have our keynote speakers confirmed by early September.
Thank you in advance, I look forward to hearing back from your office.
Sincerely,
Marleanna Hall Executive Director
