Bleed the rear wheel brake assemblies as follows: (a) ensure that the brake fluid reservoirs are fun to the correct level (bl remove any dust cap from the bleed valve on the rear wheel brake cylinders. (c) use the same procedure as for the front brake assemblies. 18. Bleed the brake fluid reaction valve as follows: la) ensure that the brake fluid reservoirs are full to the correct level (b) remove any dust caps from the reaction valve bleed valves (c) connect the bleed tube onto the reaction valve bleed valve id) continue with the same procedure as for the front brake assemblies. To Install NOTE: Ensure that the brake shoe lining material of the replacement shoes is correct (see specifications). Check the code on the side of the brake shoe lining. 9. Fit the brake shoe return spring to both brake shoes. 10. Locate the leading end of the uppermost brake shoe into the wheel brake cylinder piston and Its traffing end in the abutment. 11. Using the brake shoe horn (Tool No. 64947016) carefully lever the leading end of the other brake shoe into the wheel brake cylinder piston and then lever the trailing end of the brake shoe into the abutment slot in the other cylinder. 12. Ensure that the brake shoes are central and refit the wheel, hub and drum assembly as described in operation 14 363. 12 283 SHOES - FRONT BRAKE - REMOVE AND INSTALL (ONE SIDE) (INCLUOES ADJUST BOTH SIDES) WARNING: When the brake drums are removed there is a certain quantity of dust around the brake shoes and inside the brake drums. This dust contains asbestos and is dangerous if inhaled. Care must be exercised in the removal of this dusts. Do NOT use an air line to blow away the dust. Use a vacuum cleaner. If a vacuum cleaner is not available use protective breathing equipment and remove the dust with a brush or rag. Collect the dust in a sealable plastic bag for disposal.______________________ HLS/S TYPE FRONT BRAKE ASSEMBLY To Remove 1. Ensure that the parking brake has been applied. 2. Place a jack under the centre of the front axle and raise the vehicle to enable axle stands to be placed under each end of the axle. 3. Lower the jack until it just supports the axle. 4. Using a wheel trolley, remove the wheel, hub and drum assembly as described in operation 14 363. 5. Prise one of the brake shoes from its abutment on the-wheel brake cylinder using brake shoe horn tool (Tool No. 64947016). 6. Gradually release the brake shoe so that the other brake shoe can also be removed. 7. Remove both the brake shoes together with their brake shoe return springs. 8.
