OOhio hio are trial porge no situation . will lurewed / DG B Box | Subject UAW Complaint in Building A As all of you are aware we had a visit by an International UAW representative . || on March 11 of this year At that time we made a commitment to the UAW that we would take corrective action on the so called asbestos problem I recently | . received a copy of the UAW's letter which was written by the International summarizing the Safety Committee Meeting held in Peoria on May 20 The letter indicated that Aurora has satisfactorily resolved the asbestos problem We have in fact not resolved this problem although through Jim Burkiewicz's efforts considerable thought and effort have been given to a satisfactory solution I feel that it is most important that we do in fact arrive at a satisfactory solution to this problem so that we are not placed in an embarrassing situation with the International UAW Again I feel that the solution to this problem must be practical and honest I still maintain that there is no asbestos hazard in the work area but politically we are committed to take some kind of acceptable action to alleviate the feelings of the employees who work in those areas Please apply additional pressure to resolve this problem call on me for whatever assistance I can provide % Don't hesitate to Bob Simmons pkgs ied in Plew Plew / when /advised not opened opened | 12-5003-6-1 XAB33582 | 1028922 015
