It Is based cm examina tion of a man suffering from acute anilln poisoning caused by the acci dental splashing of anilln on the clothing, while be was employed In a dye-works. On admission to hospital he had severe cyanosis and was acutely 111, but he made a rapid recovery. The clinical and laboratory findings are described and discussed. These shoved that In the acute phase of anilln poisoning methemoglobln Is not found In the blood serum, but It la found In the hemolyBed blood; methemoglobinemia lasts only for a short time, and Is followed by a longer period with signs of accelerated blood destruction.
