Dear Dr TgjskeTson.
In response to your letter of 22 September, 1977, I should like to point out that the Office of Occupational Health of the World Health Organization is proceeding with development of a literature review document concerning vinyl chloride. When materials are available for release you will be promptly notified. Such a document would of course, incorporate all pertinent information regarding toxicity, carcinogenicity, etc. which is available to the literatur and. therefore would in all likelihood contain reportable results of the animal inhalation studies conducted, and which are still being conducted, in Bulgaria (as mentioned by you) .
In as much as you are the Chairman of the MCA Technical Panel on Vinyl Chloride Research there should be good opportunity for you to keep us informed of any new. or relevant documents concerning vinyl chloride. In this connexion, therefore, we would appreciate receiving anything you consider appropriate.
I do look forward to an interesting two years during my detail to WHO. and once I become used to the transition from the United States mores and culture to those here there should be every opportunity for self satisfaction and sense of accomplishment.
Please give my best regards to our mutual acquaintances at DOW, and should you or they be in this neighbourhood at any time, and with a schedule which permits a visit, do not hesitate to notify me.
Yours sincerely
