G'j3493 Building Asbestos Committee June 6, 1990 Initial Meeting 1. Good judgment must be used when, determining where to take air samples in buildings? 2. Surveys are to be kept updated as changes occur. 3. T. L. Bland said Trent Williams gave him a list of buildings. He needs contact list. 4. Charles Torti mentioned that Mr. Shaffer wrote the Safety group a letter informing them that he would like to have a semi-annual review of all buildings with asbestos. 5. Testing is to be performed by Safety. Contact T. L. Bland. 6. Charlie Torti stated that all decisions made by Committee should b documented for operational procedures. 7. Southwest Labs has contacts to provide testing for all of North Texas. 3. T. L. Bland said he needs a list of COs to test at the same time. 9. The architects have prepared a list of buildings that have been surveyed. 10. T. L. Bland asked Kathy for updated building list and testing already done. Kathy said she will send list. LI. J. J. Garza asked who is responsible for emergency response? L2. Charlie Torti said our -company employees will not work with customers whose buildings have asbestos. L3. Architecture may recommend projects according to cost and priority L4. We will probably develop subcommittees for projects. 15. Larry Peterson said call him before any abatement work is to be done. 16. Larry Peterson said he will supply a Texas First schedule when available. 17. T. L. Bland suggested we need Power group on Committee. Building Asbestos Connnittee June 6, 1990 Initial Meeting 18. It was agreed that no additional committee members are needed at this time except for the Power group. 19. The new practice will be distributed when approved. 20. Tobey Nealy explained our Q&M procedures and Committee requirements. 21. Ralph McCloud asked for an existing informational update and public network? 22. David Keeling mentioned the Consultants were on the leading edge of the industry. 23. T. L. Bland asked how assessment of existing survey is to be done? Yadira Lopez said it is done by Building Operations and Safety departments. 24. Architecture will take care of survey. 25. Safety has been sampling asbestos for three years and never recorded high levels of asbestos. 26. Action Items: [a] Copy of Minutes. [b] T. L. Bland to contact procurement representative. [c] Kathy Schneider to get list of Buildings surveyed. Building Manager, Status, etc. [d] Larry Peterson will get list of offices in Texas First when available.
