Thank you for your cooperation in the matter of taking the responsibility fpr this decision. I do not think it is necessary to cover the literature completely in Dr. Sanders' paper, particularly if he is away now. As to the number of charts, we can figure out the cost of them later on, when the manuscript is printed, and if we have gone over our allowance for that; issue, I will let you kno'v. It is very kind of you to say that the Laboratory will defray the cost rather than have some of the charts left out. We will therefore, print all of the charts and figures as you have sent them. It is very possible that we will not exceed our budget, but I have to watch that part of it very carefully. There is no apology necessary for sending us the carbon copy of C. Drees- jjen's paper. I am very sorry to have to return it to you for re-typing, but we are unable to have that extra work done here. I am returning it with this letter, and including all the figures, as I think it is ..safer to keep the manuscript to gether. I am. always afraid of losing some papers if a manuscript is separated. Mr. Drinker is back for a few; days, and he is delighted to have these papers to publish in the Journal. He agreed with me that they should make up one complete issue (February), and ho suggested that we might have them published later as a monograph, and sell them. We have done this with other symposiums. The order for reprints will be sent to you with the galley-proof. Do you wish all the galley-proof sent to your Laboratory, or to the individual authors?
