Weightman Dear Mrs. Weightman: Our product, Temp-Tite, is a two part compound contain ing approx 33% asbestos fibre and approx 70% of a partially polymerized phenolic resin. The asbestos poses no problem to the user as each fibre is coated with resin and cannot be separated from the mass by handling or cutting. The resin, however, is derived from the Sumac tree and can cause a rash on the unprotected skin of some people. Care should be used when handling this material. 'Either gloves should be worn or the usershould wash with any strong soap after contact.
