GILBERT AND SATHRE DIRECT CLEVELAND-PITTSBURGH SALES R. Bo Gilbert has been named paint trade sales manager and George Sathre metal sales manager for the Cleveland and Pittsburgh branches. Mr. Gilbert has been on the paint sales staff at Cleveland for the past 18 years. He began work with the Company in 1928 as a Carter Lead salesman in Ohio. Mr. Sathre entered the service of the Company in 1942 in the Cleveland branch metal department.
HIERS CONTINUES IN AS1M POST G. 0. Hiers, of the metal department of the Research Laboratories, has been re-appointed secretary of the New York District of the American Society for Testing Materials for a two-year term.
PETERSON TO SPEAK AT GOLDEN GATE PAINT MEETING E. P. Peterson, of the paint and pigment research staff of the Research Laboratories, is scheduled to address the Golden Gate Paint and Varnish Production Club at San Francisco October 23 on "Basic Silicate White Lead - 45X - a New Pigment Concept". The meeting is being held in connection with the 1947 Pacific Chemical Industrial Conference in San Francisco88 Civic Auditorium, October 21-25.
TITANIUM CHEMIST TO TEACH AT RUTGERS Dr. Charles H. Moore, research petrographer at the Titanium Division laboratories in Sayreville, will serve as instructor at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, N. J., in a twice-weekly evening course on "Advanced Petrology of Ceramic Minerals", be ginning September 29.
RICHMOND WINS GOLF TROPHY W. W. Richmond of the Company's Engineering staff in New York, won the C. A. Geatty trophy for low net score in the golf tournament at the Englewood (N.J.) Golf Club held by Metropolitan area Company employees Sept. 13. This was the third of the four golf tourneys scheduled this season by the New York i-roup. The final meeting will be at Bethpage Park, L. I., October 4.
