Hacent evldenco sugzvsts that while these hazards nay bo 1 gnlficant, convorsvly they say bo sharply reducod or eliminated by appropriate reoodlable measures. : *' The Academy's Division of Environmental Sciences is therefore con vening a Working Group on Insulation Industry Hygiene to consider the steps necessary to formulate an appropriate industrial hygiene prograo for this important industry. Experts from Industry, Labor, Government and Academic Institutions will participate; 'Industry representatives will include leading executives of the Johns-^anville Corporation, the Owens-Coming Plberglas Corporation, tho Certaln-tced Products Corporation and others as a*oll ns repre- sentatlves of the Quebec Mine Producers Association and the Insula tion Distributor Contractors National Association; Labor represen tatives vill include the President and appropriate staff members of the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers, while interested'government agencies will ineludo the United States Public Health Service and the United States Bureau of Mines. The Working Creep will meet at the Academy on May 14, 1968 at 9 AM. It is planned that the discussions vill-be completed by 5:30 PM; luncheon will be 'served at the Academy. The Acadeny is honored to invite you 'to serve os a member oC this Working Group, and to participate in the discussions concerning tho development of a program for the removal of health hazards in the Insulation Industry. An outline is attached listing a number of areas that rill be considered.
