Nasholds, J. Fountain, D. Stone, W, Brown, G. VanBramer, R. Blair, A. St. John A meeting was held in Mr, Menz's office to report on action taken in an effort to correct the asbestos problem in our inspection department as reported on September 6, 1973. The following action was to be taken: 1. Investigate the thickness of our lining with the possibility of cutting down on the amount of lining to be ground. During the months of September and October we were caking four grinder cuts in an effort to cut down on the amount of dust on the lining, however, the sample reading was 11.8, vie then ran it through the new vacuum and brush machine, the reading at this time was S.3. 2. Set up a grinder similar to the one in our Cleveland Plant. In the first week of October the grinders were arranged similar to the ones in Tennessee and lining run was inspected with an asbestos reading of 22.8. 3. Install new fans, motors and increase duct sizes on the grinders. According to Dave Stone the fans and motors have been ordered and upon receipt they shall be installed immediately. Further action to be taken under No. 2 above - Dave Stone is going to install jets on the grinders similar to the Tennessee operation. Upon completing this project the lining will be sampled. It was further decided at the meeting that protective equipment will be issued to the inspection department handling Ford Service and Disc Brakes.
