Geiger 06053201 /(jf'ctite Construction Products Division DATE: December 6, 1982 SUBJECT: Disposable Coveralls r During the past few years the company has been supplying our employees with disposable coveralls to prevent undue exposure and transmittal of fiber laden dust. The ability to dispose of this suit after use can decrease ex posure to the wearer, his fellow workers, and his family & friends. Proper use of this suit is important in realizing its potential as pro tective equipment. The following may serve as a set of guide lines for the supervisor and user of this equipment: 1. Where use of coveralls is necessary respirator use should be mandatory. 2. The supervisor should be confident the user is familiar with proper use of the suit. 3. If the suit is too large tape should be used to prevent the potential of loose clothing becoming a safety haz ard. It is also a good idea to tape or tie the legs tight to prevent dust getting up the pants legs. 4. The wearer should remove his suit during breaks or when he is in close contact with a person not similarily equipped. 5. Store the suit in such manner it will not come in contact with other workers. 6. After use, seal the coveralls in a garbage bag and discard in a trash container. Since these suits require a supervisors signature it is his responsibil ity to determine if their use is warranted. Although each job is unique and subject to your discretion the following list of general tasks are those which may require coveralls. 1. Any extended cleanup or handling of dry material where contact with clothes is unavoidable. 2. Baghouse or other dust collector maintenance work. 3.
