Tim,
On background: The proposed budget maintains strong funding for the EPA's most critical functions. This budget supports our work to increase effectiveness across every aspect of the agency - from the work we do and how we do it, to the way we are organized and the geographic location and spaces we occupy. Final funding levels will not be settled until Congress acts
Along with the proposed budget, EPA released the FY 2018-2022 Strategic Plan and the Agency's Reform Plan. Together, these documents set a road-map for EPA to better achieve our mission of protecting human health and the environment while improving the effectiveness and efficiency of our processes and operations. My name is Tim Seeberger and I'm a journalism student at Baruch College. I'm writing an article on the proposed 2019 fiscal budget for the EPA for an environmental reporting class and the impacts of the proposed budget change on estuary programs. Is there anybody I could interview from the region 2 office about the budget? I contacted the Long Island Sound Study on this matter and was directed to you. My deadline is April 10, so if I could interview someone by April 7, that would be much appreciated.
