Ensign Peck entered the Navy alter graduat ing from University of Wisconsin in June 1965. GEORGE-ANN ADAMS received her Master's Degree from the Graduate School, University of Illinois, with a Major in Speech Pathology. She is a member of American Speech and Hear ing Association. As a graduate student in Speech Pathology, she has had the privilege of working in speech therapy in the school clinic, where she has helped many under-privileged persons to gain rewarding experiences in this field. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Tappan, Au ditor. Sandra was vice-president of Home-Ec Club, Secretary of Horizon Club, Secretary-Treasurer of Thespi ans Society. Her interest and talent in the field of dramatics and designing have filled her high school years with interesting and challenging ex]>erientes. In her junior and senior years she was head costume designer of all dramatic and musical productions at school, and also had acting roles in several plays, including "Diary oi Anne Frank," "Angel Street," "My Heart's in the Highlands." During the summer of 1963 she did costume design work lor a series ol Shakespeare plays at Illinois Institute of Technology. Sandra re ceived a scholarship to Illinois Wes leyan University where she will work for a degree in Fine Arts (BFA) with a major in Drama and Speech, and a minor in Arts. For the past two years Sandra has worked part-time at a local grocery store as chec ker, averaging SO hours per week in this job. With her earnings, instead ol going tor luxuries which all teenagers love, she has contributed much to the household expenses. Front lime to time, no doubt, she has given up something she wanted very much Tor herself but lrom the c ountenance ol this girl, one can readily see that she has gained far more through her un selfishness, than many a young jterson who h;s been blessed with "too much." He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Bean and Kenny is Managci of our Des Moines-West Branch, Brent has played half-back on the Varsity (ootball team where he earned two let ters, as well as lour letters in Varsity track. Gansch, is Credit Manager of our Peoria--Prospect Branch, and her fa ther is Mr. Alvin E. Gansch. Pamela was a member of a rappella choir, Harmo Knights (Richwood's 12-girl ensemble). School Trio and Future Nurses of America. She is also an accomplished pianist. Pamela plans to be a piano in structor at a local Music Studio after graduation. STEVEN ROUSH is a graduate from North High School, Des Moines, Iowa. He is the son of Mrs. Dorothy I. Rush, who is a part-time sales clerk at our Des Moines--East Branch. Steven is on the tennis team at school, a member oi the Political Information Club. He is also active in his church, serving as Vice-Moderator of the Youth Group. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Souscr. Russell has been working part time in our Muske gon Branch as stockkeeper since April 1963. When taking part in a workschool program a student has very little time to become active in extra curricu lar school activities, however, their ex perience and monetary gains will assist greatly toward equipping them for either college or business. Russell does plan on furthering his education in college. JO ANN BROWN is a graduate of Billings West High School, Great Falls, Montana. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Brown, Great Falls Branch Manager. Jo Ann has been car rying a heavy schedule of courses in order to qualify for pre-veterinary. Her interests and activities have been di rected to riding and riding club activilies. She plans to enroll at the College of Montana in Bozeman to prepare for the profession of veterinarian, and she also intends to continue riding in horse shows. She was a member of the Frent h Club also, and is a talented pianist. Her interests in(Jude the popular classification of "rec ord fan." Sylvia is planinng to attend college this'fall and her preference is Kansas University. JOHN WILSON STAHLY, JR. is a graduate of the Edina-Moriiingside High School, Minnea|x>lis, Minnesota. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Stahly, Northwest Area Manager. John Jr. enjoys all sports, particularly bas ketball. He was a member of the Edina team that placed third in the state tournament and finished the season with a 26-1 record. Ethelyn was captain ol the "A" squad cheerleaders, and active in Pep Club, GAA, Sub-Debs, choir, busi ness club, and youth activities in the Luther League. She plans on taking a business course in Minneapo lis to prepare her for a career in that field. LARRY COLLINS is a graduate of Model High School, Minot, North Da kota. He is the son ol Mr. and Mrs. John Collins and his mother, Eileen, is Sa les Clerk in our Minot Branch. Larry lettered in track, basketball and foot ball three years; was vice-president this past year of the Letterman's Club, and has been a member ol the choir for three years. He was elertecl "Homecom ing King" in October 1963 and chosen as a representative to Boys State in June ol 1963. His main interests are `golf and art work. He is a graduate ol the St. Joseph High School. His Interests include ssvtinming, boating, skiing and archery, how ever, and we quote "his main love is his little Italian .sports tar, an Alfa Romeo." Much of his time is spent with this "love," cleaning it and doing all his own mechanical repair work. Dennis plans to continue his education at the Kenosha Technical Institute in electronics. It seems as though the Hofer family are all musicians, as Ronda plays a clarinet in the school band and is a piano stu dent of two years. Ronda will attend Huron Jr. High School this fall. Bloomquist Moves to Cleveland Mr. Bloomquist, General Supervisor of Factory Accounts, Chicago, first be came associated with The Sherwin-Wil liams Company at the Illinois Ordinance Plant at Garbondale. Illinois where he was assigned as General Auditor by the United States Government in charge of The Sherwin-Williams project. In 194 L he entered the Armed Service and served For two years in the Pacific. Upon his return he came to Chicago as a member of the Sherwin-Williams or ganisation and worked for Mr. H. D. Lester, who at that time was the General Supervisor in charge of Factory Ac counts, In 1950, Mr. Bloomquist was appoint ed General Supervisor of Factory Ac counts, replacing Mr. Lester who left Chicago to become Treasurer of Acme Quality Products, a subsidiary. Mr. Bloomquist's new title will be Executive Comptroller -- Finance and Accounting for the institution. In this new job he will report directly to Mr. H. D. Lester, Vice-President and Treas urer ol ihe Company. I Mr, Bloomquist spent a day in the Chicago Regional office early in Mas to get a "bird's-eye view" of Regional'acounting and we are looking forward to his return in his new capacity. Ante Brolin Celebrates 25 Years with The Sherwin-Williams Co. On Wednesday, March 18th, Arne's anniversary date, a lunc heon was held at Parise's Restaurant. Sixty of his friends from the Factory and Zone were in at tendance. At this luncheon, Arne was presented with his watch, an album of letters which he will cherish for a long time to come, and a long service certifi cate: Mrs. Brolin received a double strand of cultured pearls plus an orchid corsage. The presentations were made by Henry Einbecker, General Superin tendent of the Chicago Factory. On April 24, 1964 about eight of Arne's friends and co-workers gathered at the Rosewood Inn to honor him on the completion of his Twenty-five years with The Sherwin-Williams Company. Arne was hired by Mr. Einbecker to work in the Chit ago Tech. Service De partment. He had attended Albion Uni versity for three years and graduated from The Universityof Chicago. During the time he was in school, Arne washed dishes ancl served as a bus boy to help pay his way through school. During the years with the company, he served as formulator, group leader anti section supervisor. In the fall of 1952 he relinquished his responsibilities with the Implement Group and took over as Assistant Director of the Tech. Service Department under Mr. Moore. He served in this capacity for about a year and a hall, alter which time he as sumed the duties of Tech. Manager of Bid Sales. From 1955 to 1956 Arne did some spe cial work for Mr. Gaarder in connection with Information Dissemination Serv ice. He was officially transferred to the Mr. Einbt-cker presenting Arne with watch. During the war, Arne received an "Outstanding Achievement Citation" Irom the Navy. As for civic duties, Arne served on the School Board in Flossmoor for about two years. MYERS, Credit Manager at Kokomo, Indiana, was recently trans ferred to Atlanta, Georgia to take over the responsibilities of Branch Credit Supervisor for the Southeastern Region. Del began his career with S-W on March 17, 1958 as Credit Manager of our Peoria-Prospect Branch. It did not take long for the Regional Credit De partment to discover Del's qualities and on October 1, 1958 he was promoted to the Regional Office as Branch Credit Supervisor. On May 16, 1959 Del took over the important position of Credit Manager in the Kokomo, Indiana Branch.
