Amanda, I'm following up on Kate's email regarding a briefing on the NPC's Arctic Study Report focused on well containment and spill response. If we could identify 2 or 3 potential dates, it will be easier to find a time that works with the other members of the briefing team, including Don Armijo, President of Marine Well Containment. I have checked with Peter Velez, and below is his April availability.
April 2 (afternoon) through April 6 April 16 through April 18 April 30 through May 4 (note: this is OTC week, so may be difficult for other team members)
If these dates are not convenient, we can look into May. Please feel free to suggest alternatives.
Thanks for your assistance. Please let me know if you need any additional information. FYI I'm copying Leila on to this email after talking with her a couple minutes ago at CERAWeek. She offered to be of assistance. Regards, Jim Slutz National Petroleum Council 703 431 9749 (mobile) 202 261 6327 (direct) Note: I am in Houston this week, so please use my mobile, if we need to talk this week.

Hi Kate, I hope your 2018 is off to a good start. I'm following up on my December 19 email (below) regarding a detailed briefing on well control and oil spill response. I talked with Peter Velez and confirmed his availability for either the week of February 5-9 or February 20-23. Do either of those times frames work for you and your team? If we can identify a couple options, the NPC can confirm the days/times with other folks that will participate. Please let me know if you need additional information or have alternative dates. Hi Kate, I'm formally following up on the November briefing on the NPC's Arctic report briefing. At the conclusion of the meeting, there was interest in a follow-up briefing focused on well control and oil spill response. The NPC has worked with our team to identify folks with technical expertise to participate in a follow-up. Peter Velez will lead our team for the follow-up briefing. In addition, Don Armijo, President & CEO of the Marine Well Containment Company (MWCC), is planning to participate. The NPC also anticipates technical experts from Schlumberger (Cameron) and ExxonMobil will participate. It would be helpful to identify a few possible dates so that the briefing team can begin making plans. The time frame of mid-January to early February should provide sufficient planning time.
Are there dates that work for you and Scott Angelle? Now that Assistant Secretary Balash is confirmed, perhaps he would want to participate. If a quick background briefing is useful for Joe, we can plan that into the briefing and Peter can cover that material quickly so that we can get into the more technical issues. Just let me know what you prefer.
If we can start looking at dates now, perhaps we can put something on the calendar before we all get too busy in 2018. Let me know if you have any questions.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and hopefully you are scheduling a little time to relax and celebrate.
Merry Christmas, Jim

Amanda, A quick question before I reach out to the NPC team. How much time is available for the briefing? In our first briefing, we scheduled an hour and ran out of time to cover all of DOI's questions. I suggest that we schedule an hour and perhaps hold an addition 30 minutes, in case it is needed. I realize that this is longer than typically briefing times, but there is significant material.
Thanks, Jim
