.It Vas reported.that Dr. lancer-performed-his anavlses oh sam
ples- purchased 'in 1973. Mr. Siako `described a meeting between
himself nd,Dr. Lancer on. Tuesday. He estimated the sa-afie
of "Cashmere BpuOut" tsfcd was probably a. pr-1970 ssimple. .
Mr. -Mundy (Sterling) r.epr.ted on- hi.s contacts with Dr. Langer
nd .stated the sample Dr. Langer tested was from 1970 production.

Recent Production Data
it was agreed by. the, task force that .it'-would be extremo)y
beneficial if indu^idal companies, cold provide data to the
FDA'.on recent production...-Most companies- present indicated
that* they possess such data, and would bp willing to -provide the dat.- Mr Wessinger (CHesebrough^POnd*s) stated he
would Have to confirm this willingness with his management. It was-suggested each--company prepare a-;letter,, addressed to
Dr. Estrin, with a summary of'the data ori recent-production for thdir 'products and a commitment to set-up a subsequent
meeting with PDA- to discuss this data, in detail, if PDA so
desires. This, letter -should be delivered to Dr. Estrin by Monday,`March l'5th. Subsequently, a meeting was set-up for
that Monday, March 15th, at* the CTFA offices, with-a meeting
at FfcA- to .be held in ;the afternoon.*.

Advantages a$d disadvantages-of having CTFA contract an in dependent laboratory`to do tests on current product io-i sam ples was discussed* It Was noted that, such data Would no * doubt be useful,- hot only in discussions with PDA, but also as. part of a presentation to tbe Miscellaneous External pane) nd, perhaps, to ether panels as well; it was suggested the CTFA methodology b utilized tot such a task, but that TEM be used on those samples that have ben 'shown to be positive

The results Would be made knpwir to the FD add probably published in some form. The following companies indicated they would be willing to parti cipate:

The- task force -agreed to await the results of the -meetinas - with CTFA-before deciding on whether a study on current produc tion should be initiated.
The meeting adjourned in order for a,small group to meet with PDA t 2:00 p.ni. to discuss the results of CTFA analyses of Dr. Lewin's samples.
