E. Rowley of the Los Angeles Bureau of Light and Power, ESE South Hill Street, Los Angeles, that the troopstraining in the California desert are burning 72 octane leaded gasoline in their cook stoves and having lots of trouble with deposits on the burners, so that they require oleaning after almost every meal. They thought they had gum trouble but does it not sound like lead deposit? I was surprised to learn that anybody used leaded gasoline in stoves, but if the army is allowed to do this, it looks as. if something should be done to get a round deposits. Mr. Rowley is concerned with this because he is technical consultant to the War Department, and the troops keep asking him what to do when he visits them.
