Forsthoffer 0-5 The 1st Quarter Safety & Housekeeping Inspection for Dept. 15/16 was conducted April 16, 1984 by the inspection team of Ed Dowden, Paul Saunders and Bob Hammann. Overall-, the unit was rated as being good. It was felt by the inspection team that there has been significant improvement in the unit's general appearance and safety equipment condition. The following specific items need to be corrected: Safety 1. Safety chains missing on chain operated valves by 29E3 (this old equipment needs to be relabeled) - condensate line at ground floor by 16D2, and the first landing of 16D2. 2. Seal guards missing on 15P21-1 & 2. 3. Inspection tags needed on ladders 15-1 and 15-12 in Dept. 15 stripper area. 4. Safety shower sign missing Dept. 15 stripper second deck near fire extinguisher box 15-27. Additional safety shower signs missing in the third deck of Dept. 15 stripper area. 5. Eyebaths in Dept. 15 fin fan area west of the compressors are located very close to utility stations whose hoses interfere with access. Consider moving these. 6. Nitrogen station at top of the fin fan area walkway to S3 has sign mounted on electrical light post. Also station is non-standard. Nitrogen station on the northwest side of the reactor area needs sign and proper configuration. 7. No breathing air sign on BA-17. 8. Door on fire extinguisher box No. 16-18 on second deck won't open. 9. Need to replace sticker on phone in saltwater pump house - it has faded considerably. Two full drums east of old Power 1 labeled "Hazardous Waste-Solid N.O.S." Need to be disposed of. 4. Loose insulation at 16P16-2 needs to be removed and turbine reinsulated. Is this asbestos? 5.
