In summary, I think it could be greatly improved and AIHA should proceed to produce such a program. Some specific comments are below. 1. The program puts a great deal of emphasis on hazardous waste sites as a workplace of concern. The general discussion of the variety of workplaces and hazards is not broad enough. 2. The basic duties or activities of a hygienist need more discussion. 3. Very little is shown regarding surveys and survey instrumentation. 4. The discussion on the framework, regulatory and political, that hygienist work in is good. Please call if you would like to discuss the program.
