The samples were analyzed for TOC in duplicate by furnace combustion and nondispcrsive infrared detection on a Dohrmann Phoenix 8000 TOC analyzer, after acidification to remove inorganic carbon, and drying. No correction was made, therefore, tor moisture content. The average o f the sample bums is reported. 2. The method-recommended holding time o f 2 weeks was met.
