Kehoe Cincinnati Dear Doctor Kehoe: This morning, Mr. Maxwell of the Legal Department of Socony-VacuumOil Company, Inc. called this office to ad vise us of a situation which they have in Boston which he felt that we might be interested in. One of their employees in the Pipe-fitting Depart ment, M r w h o has been working for them since 1936 and who, during the past several years, has been engaged in tank cleaning, has recently suffered more or less a physical break-down which he attributes to exposure to lead while clean ing tanks. While he has taken no action against the company and still is in their employ, he has not been able to work since July 7th. At that time he claims to have had a complete mental blackout for a period of several days. Mr. Maxwell further in formed me that there is evidence that has been drinking rather heavily for the last several years and it is their opinion that this may have been the principal factor affecting his health.
