Colunbus, Ohio Ms. Dolby: An Industrial hygiene Investigation was performed at the Fisher Body Division G.M.C., 200 Georgesvllle Road, Columbus, on February 8, 1980, In order to evaluate the work environment of the claimant. Ms. Null Initiated her employment with Fisher Body Corporation on September 9, 1957 as an assembler. In 1964 the claimant was transferred to Department #3.with the job classification of Punch Press Llqht/Splnner Operator. The majority of Ms. Null's remaining work days were In the capacity of spinner operator. The claimant had several months of accrued medical leave In 1977 1978 due to an Injury. Ms. Null has indicated that she was exposed to fumes from the plating depot. However, observation of work procedures In the departments that the claimant had been employed Indicates a probable low level of exposure to air contaminants. It would be difficult to relate the onset of chemical bronchitis to the claimant's work history at Fisher Body Division G.M.C. for the following reasons: 1. The claimant was never employed as an electroplater or a painter. Consequently,' Ms.Null's work-site was always significantly distant from sources of plating/paint fumes. 2. The plating tanks are adequately controlled by localized ventilation. Spray-painting operations are performed In spray booths. 3.
