The needle is s t e r i l e and we recommend th a t the blood be taken through the needle d ire c tly Into the tubes without the use of a syringe* Two tubes are provided In to each o f which we should lik e to have approxim ately 10 cc o f blood, as these samples w ill be analyzed In d u p licate* At the time of the venepuncture we should a lso lik e a small sample o f u rin e* This can e ith e r be passed before or a f t e r the blood is taken* The sample should be passed d ir e c t ly in to th e b o t t le and the stopper ioe d ia te ly rep laced * Our in s tr u c tio n s f o r the c o lle c tio n of these samples are attached*
